Mental Confetti

Streamer scraps I cleaned up off of the floor over the past week:

Bypassing that circuit of distraction

The language of insight

Slovenian sea salt

Drinking goal repellant

Physical tendencies

I got quite a bit out of it despite not liking it very much

Standing in front of your only source of light

It will have its uses in time

Body language confirmation bias

We twisted the knife together

Scheduled delays

Caught up in a turbulent wake

Today is yesterday is tomorrow

Totally not worth it for a fancy bust

Excitement cultivation

There is no assurance at all

Fun budget

Some external fount of wisdom that occasionally leaks brilliance into one’s skull

The drone’s unfettered access to queen bees

The oars of intention and perseverance

Babylon’s 7-day week

Massively comforting and thrilling at the same time

Long-term and low-yield but more effective than you’d think

The shared agreeance on a common perception

Maybe not much but a net positive for sure

Casting a net into the ocean of the mind

Delicious intricacies

Psychic Modulation

A handful of psychic modulators tossed in a bag:

Flatter and flatter, faster and faster

Separate or reinstate

Occult diseases that occur at high altitude

Sowing magnetic fields

The caged tiger

It just felt like a fact – a constant

The Dyad and the Demiurge

Letting go of the edge of the pool

Hunting life

Psychic callus

“Not just eternity, but infinity”

All caps, one at a time

It was ridiculous and fantastic

Waking the driver asleep at the wheel

Enjoying the distraction while returning to purpose

“The unmoved movers, if they were anywhere, were said to fill the outer void, beyond the sphere of fixed stars”

Wading in warm tides

Crude solutions

Pre-immediately

Super-floaty dream texting

I continued to return to the visualizations

Fragments

A few mildly-interesting shells I found over the past week of early morning walks along the beach of thought.

A shirt with “Faith in Nothing” across the front

Inverted dirt maps

We ate all the spices and left

Expanding the Crème Brûlée Windowing Function

Probably the last time

The collection of castoffs and false starts

Blind bull of emotion

“You’ll be so much less interesting when you burn all of that intensity out.”

Second-guessing the machine

Thirst recognition amidst systemic dehydration

Made for pussyfooting

The gold beneath the dirt of the path

Thought Granola

I went back through the past week or so of things that I’ve written or thought about (journals, writing exercises, obsessions, etc) and collected bits and pieces that jumped out at me for whatever reason.  No purpose or implied meaning in the collection or order, just scraps left on the table that might be useful at some point in the future…

Its worth is in what it allows you to do

Let’s open another case and get down to business

“Fantasy, fantasy,” I keep telling myself

Everything slid into slow motion as I leaned in

See you there, back then, or tomorrow

Little struggles toward maximal results

Wavefields shifting in real-time

Shaken nerves soothed by soft coos and whispers

Sixteen whistles blow in the early morning

An orchestra of cardigans caught up in a tape loop

My brain talking to itself in a time soup

A soft explosion in my skull

Those paths left behind though…

As strangers again, in a sense

Silence is content too

When you think of light as a wave

The veil is transparent but tactile too

There’s been a lot of discussion about the beast lately

A group with a single member

Devising clever edge case scenarios

A pinpoint supernova of creativity and thought

Sweet victory and bitter defeat share the same digestive tract

Probability Signature

Seemingly random flashing lights fading together into a sea of noise

Hop Progress

Baby, couldn’t we just escape all this nonsense together?

Incriminating raw thoughts

Time as a field or vector

Major Force Be With You

Major Force Be With You

This is a short documentary from Red Bull about the Japanese music/fashion/culture collective, Major Force. I’m pretty sure that the last time that I truly had hearts in my eyes for records was sometime in the late 90s at Ear-X-tacy when Mo Wax released the “Major Force – The Original Art-Form” vinyl box set.

There are English subtitles that may or may not be on by default.

Also check out:

Major Force West’s “93-97”

Tosh & Kudo were in Skylab with Howie B and Mat Ducasse, definitely check out

Skylab’s “#1”

but, above all,

Skylab’s “Oh!”

I vividly remember picking my copy of this off of the wall at Reckless Records in Chicago when it came out. Every time that I dust it off to play it, I can’t believe how good it is and how well it straddles the line of catchiness and challenging arty weirdness.

Goodness, Island’s debut EP is fire. Martin Gore’s new album (as MG) is far better than I was expecting it to be. While the album of collaborations from Gábor Lázár & Mark Fell is certainly a challenging listen at times, it definitely pays off. The title alone had me hooked.

Rest in Power Rashad – this new Machinedrum tribute EP is keeping your name alive. The Nochexxx album is bonkers – if you are into The Boats’ most recent albums of tape-distorted Techno, this’ll be your jam. I threw Blvck Ceiling in there because, even though it’s 2015, fuck it – sometimes you still need some Witchhouse in your life.

Squarepusher’s latest is obviously the biggest profile release this week (I wasn’t super into it but, to be fair, I haven’t really paid much attention to his releases in years) but my favorite add is Flava D’s compilation of some of her classics, More Love.
